5 Ways to Wear a T-shirt Dress {$20 or less!}

My love affair with the super simple T-shirt dress started YEARS ago. I love a one piece outfit – rompers, jumpsuits, t-shirt dresses. There is just something so super wearable about this kind of piece. I've had many over the years and find myself snagging a new one each season.

I fell in love with this ridiculously affordable $15 Target steal this year... and I just couldn't wait to show you a few ways to style this.

First of all... this is a GREAT piece. The length is nice and respectable, it is roomy through the stomach and hips and has a good sleeve length. I do have broad shoulders and sometimes these pull a bit through the chest... but this one was a-ok! This style comes in 3 colors... BUT I have a few others that I totally loved as well... And... those just so happen to sneak into my cart as I was writing this blog post. So scroll on down for more ideas!

You can wear this little gem simple and classic without any bells and whistles. It is airy and perfect for TX weather. OR... you can get a little bit fancied up...

Look 1 – A Little Dressy

Add a jean jacket. duh. Obviously this outfit screams for the lovely little jeany layer... however, pair with some booties and you have a fun transitional look. You KNOW I love these white booties from Amazon... and I think they are a critical part of my Spring wardrobe.

Look 2 – Sporty

Ya'll. I LOVE when I can make a dress look and feel sporty. And that is so easily accomplished when you tie a jacket at the waist like my cutie white bomber jacket {P.S. there are ghosted leopard spots all over the jacket!}. Any athletic style jacket open and not zipped up so that you get side coverage should do... but obvi I swoon over the bomber!

Throw on some casual sneaks like the Adidas Cloudfoam and voila! Sporty Mom ready to tackle the day. P.P.S I love a good half top knot. You?

Look 3 – Kimono Dressy Style

For a dressier take, throw on some nude heels {they lengthen your legs, and if you are 5'3" like me... you are welcome!} And...grab a colorful kimono like this one... wear with a belt or long and loose. I wish I had tried on with my longer kimono, too. I think that would have been super fun!

Look 4 – Brunchin'

This is my FAVORITE look of the 5. I tied a jean shirt at my waist to cinch in the dress and give it more shape. To make the vibe casual... I rolled up the sleeves and threw on a cutie cross-body bag. Cinching the dress in did shorten it slightly, but it still feels like a respectable length.

Look 5 – Beach Happy.

This look doesn't have to be for the beach only... it's great for an outdoorsy kinda day... a picnic... a lunch date, etc. I simply took a hairband and made a gather inside the dress on one side. It gives it an assymetrical bit of interest and shortens it ever so slightly. Sandals and a straw hat are only fitting to make this outfit complete.

I mean... a beach cover-up? Yes. This dress totally works for that too.

More dresses and inspo?

I love Target... I mean who doesn't? And I love that they show real life shoppers images with the outfits. It's hard to visualize an outfit on a 5'10" size 0 model. So seeing real life women always helps.

Here are some other ladies in this same dress!

I ALSO loved this same dress but with a v-neck cut.

Cute patterns and solids are offered in this style. And this one is only $12! I quickly ordered the navy stripe and camo.

And if you like a bit more length here is a sleeveless midi length ($20) that I'm equally obsessed with. Did this get ordered for my Spring rack? Only my credit card will tell the truth.
